  Food poisoning - I'll pass on the chicken, next time!!!

  well, yesterday i suffered my first case of food poisoning.. i had a meal with friends (about 12 of us), and myself and one of the lassies had chicken, whilst everyone else had lamb.. three hours later, the two of us ended up violently sick, and she was rushed to hospital because of complications with diabetes.. so, i've taken the day off work, as i didn't sleep much last night, and have just been sipping water for nearly 24 hours.

  if needs be, i'll take tomorrow off, too.. i'm back off to bed.

  Hasn't chicken been a news item now & then, over the past wee while? Imported chicken that was heavily diluted with water was one I remember. Also, quite a few times, when there's been a scandal concerning the re - cycling of meat considered unfit for human or animal consuption into the food chain by unscrupulous operators, chicken seems to be the one most frequently mentioned. Recently, it seems to be the only one mentioned, so perhaps it's an area where bigger profits from disgusting food are more likeley due to the huge amounts of waste that do seem to stem from its production if the news reports we see are anything to go by & oh boy I've just considered how wonderful all that must make LittleToe feel after his present visit from uncles ' Bob & Huey '. Sorry, pal! Get well soon & all that. Really, though, just what the hell are we being served or sold at times?

  Many thanks for the reply. I was curious to know the venue you went to also. It's possible that I've got a recording of it, especially if it was a 1970 date ( Fillmore East thru the 'Cry Of Love' tour up to Maui ). Be cool to be able to say 'I've heard from somebody who was there' & all that. D'you have any special memories of what you saw?

  Sorry Azzy I don't know that one 'fraid so I'll just haveta mime it ( sounds like a kingdom melody already! ). Er, "Babylon's Burning" by the Ruts could be a cool 2nd choice? btw Primitive I think that one's the same song. Check the writing credits for Vanian, Sensible, Scabies etc...

  Who composes the JW music?

  who composed the songs in the song book "sing praises to jehovah", and who decides what song is suitable or not?

  the song book is almost 20 years old, and i wonder if they will come out with a new song book?.

  although a few songs are nice, i find that most of them are dull.

  And what the hell were that jury thinking about when they recommended such a sentence, even if on the basis of previous convictions? What that tells me is that the notion of trial by "12 good men (or persons)" can have no meaning if the persons don't have more than half a brain( unless the judge directed them towards the decision). A little while back here, we had a tv docu about a corrupt undercover agent working recently in the US deep south. One of his victims jurors was a woman who voted 'guilty' on the basis of a "funny feeling", & she was adamant that her 'feeling' was always good, irrespective of issues of evidence. If there's enough doughballs on yer jury, who can't tell satan from santa, maybe ya gotta worry.
